Default Doa with heroes?

Hi all

What would be an easy way to do doa nm with a friend and some heroes? We tried doa platoon, but we really don't know enough about doa to succeed. Luckily, I'm an para and he is an ritualist, but what type of strategy should be tried? Would 2 man racway work?

Greetings,
Jelmew

I once did the Stygian veil ZB with myself and 6 heroes(had a guy drop me in there with a mesmer and 2 monks then exit) I was an earthshaker warrior. The only reason I failed was I misjudged a popup at the far west lord(it was my first doa run). The last part with the maw may have been hard, you got to flag wrangle like crazy vs the tendrils...

Since then I've been on a few glaive runs, and from what I've seen, The City and the Gloom are probably the easiest to deal with heroes, if youcan take margonites and torment critters in HM in other places you should be able to take them here if you pull carefully. You're going to want really good hexz removal on something, like every mesmer in there has soothing images and you need your paragon clean to make your party survive. Micro it for yourself if you have too.

Also, it's cheesey but consets really really help. It's an 8k investment and if you're lucky you should recoup the loss.

Just go with a glaiveway pug once, then you'll know about all the tactics you need to use platoon. Racway won't cut it, the amount of melee hate is just to much (hexes conditions etc.). You could just go mass spirit and minion spam, but that's about the whole idea of platoon. You could try discord (yeah yeah...) but that's a slow and risky way (and the hungers will most likely kill you).

When me and my friend do DOA runs I take two SF nukers and a UA healer. I use barrage with a fiery bowstring to trigger Mark of Rodrocks. He brings several spirit spam rits. One is a protection rit(Soul Twisting/Shelter/Union/Displacement Build) one is a SoS rit, and he normally runs a build with a variety of spirits. We normally bring a minnion master with discord also. Works real well in Ravenheart Gloom.

Panic would probably work very well, especially at the first part of Veil, Most of the mobs in Gloom, and the big room in Foundry.

I'd definitely look into that and probably a ER prot/infuser ele.

As for Damage I'd say Ineptitude, Energy Surge, Defile/Desecrate Enchantments, Wastrel's Worry/Demise, VoR (not if using panic), or something along those lines. You want alot of strong, armor-ignoring aoe, not single spike damage (Discord.)

Some nice support skills would be stuff like Enfeebling Blood, some random, cheap enchant removals, Convert Hexes, etc.

If you reeeeeaaally want to make it easy and can afford it, grab some consets and a few Powerstones.

doa platoon with a couple of consets will make doa very easy to do, even if you overaggro all the time. you should make atleast double the money you spent on cons back from armbraces, even in NM

Me and a friend completed all areas without problems, including foundry, with discordway + one rit with defensive spirits. No cons used. This was like 8 months ago, but DoA hasn't changed so it should still work.

I used to do DoA nm with:
1 imbagon (player)
1 frontline (player, leader)
1 monk (divert hexes or pnh, player)
N/Rt heal hero
N/ minion bomber hero
3x ranged dmg (SS nec, splinter barrage, mesmer, fire ele, etc) heroes or players

It really helps to have a third person to use hex removal wisely on the imbagon, not to mention seed of life is pretty godly. Consets, particularly celerity, are highly recommended.

In general most people have problems with pop-ups and hungers in veil, and overaggroing groups in last room foundry. Just take these areas slow if you are unexperienced.

I've done parts of DoA NM (veil, city and foundry) with a friend to show him around DoA. He was there for the 1st time.
I was barrage ranger, he was SS necro. For heroes we brought discordway and 2 rits from spiritway and a N/RT healer. We used no cons but it was long: 1-1.5h for each boss. This was last week.

Yeah i agree with this. Any generic set up with Imbagon+spirits+minion+rit spikes will be fine. Just take it slow and careful if you arent too experienced.

Ive done it with me + 6 heroes no problem. Cons make it a joke, and make the run a million times faster and safer
